Listen: we all have nipples, right? There are many, equally valid reasons you may want to cover yours. Sometimes, an outfit is backless and a full-on bra just wouldn’t look right. Or, you might have that one top that’s just a tad too see through.
Knowing where to shop for nipple covers can be a real challenge, since there are so many on the market now. Some nipple covers come with an adhesive, some are self-adhesive, and they can come in a wide variety of shades and sizes. It can all get a little confusing. At the end of the day, everyone has different nipples, and different wants and needs when it comes to covering them in style.

All About Cakes (Not the Edible Kind)
One of the most well-known brands of nipple covers is Cakes. Cakes first gained popularity after going viral in May 2022 on TikTok. They gained further popularity when they were featured on Shark Tank in December 2023, and still more attention when they went viral yet again on Tiktok shop between 2024 and 2025. Their biggest appeal was that they were self-adhesive and came in a range of sizes.
However, the covers came with some drawbacks. Because of the self-adhesion, many found that they had trouble keeping the covers in place. Cakes were marketed to be ideal for working out or swimming due to no adhesion, and instead, gripped on with your body’s natural heat. While the idea of no adhesion sounds great and gets rid of the possibility of skin irritation, this feature was a major pain point for some.
The other issue was the price. Cakes nipple covers come in at $33, which isn’t…exactly cheap for two pieces of silicone. Yes, they are good for multiple uses, but $33 still may be a little steep for many, especially when it’s non-adhesive.
Alternatives to Cakes
While it can make shopping overwhelming, it’s also a blessing in disguise that there are so many nipple covers on the market now in various sizes and colors and at a cheaper price point than the Cakes brand covers. Let’s go through a few of the best alternative brands as well as pricing, adhesion, and sizing for each.
Savage x Fenty – Naughty Nip Silicone Pasties
Savage x Fenty’s Naughty Nip Silicone Pasties were designed to discreetly smooth and cover the nipple under clothing and bras. The pasties come in three colors: brown sugar nude, honey nude, and sweet latte nude. They also come in three sizes, two with a range (XS-M and L-3X) and one standalone 4X size.
However, the sizes do not coincide with cup size, but just the size of the coverage of the nipple cover itself. The price for a pair is $29.95, but if you become a member, the price drops down to only $5.98. They are made of 100% silicone and are reusable, though the website does not disclose how many uses you can get out of them.
They are adhesive, so possible skin irritation is a factor to consider. I don’t particularly like the name because in my opinion, there’s nothing naturally naughty about nipples. Again – we all have them!
Aerie – Nippies Skin
The second brand I think is worth mentioning is Aerie’s Nippies Skin. First, I just think the name is super cute. The nipple covers come in four colors: sands, cappuccino, beach dune, dark rust, and canyon sun. So you have quite a few colors to choose from with these, at $26.50 a pair. The covers are designed using Aerie’s invisifeel matte silicone, which offers medical-grade silicone with ultra-thin, tapered edges to remain invisible under whatever you’re wearing and also is made to seamlessly blend with your skin.
Nippies are applied with adhesive, but they are water resistant and sweat-proof. They’re marketed as reusable up to 20-30 times, and the care instructions are to hand wash and air dry with the inside of the cups facing up.
The biggest drawback is the sizing, with the covers only coming in size small and large. Size small is meant to fit cup size A-C and large is meant to fit D+. But considering that there are only two sizes, these nipple covers don’t seem super size inclusive.
Third Love – Breathable Silicone Solutions
Third Love’s nipple covers offer a unique micro-perforated design that keeps your skin cool and comfortable while also keeping the nipple covers sweatproof by allowing the skin to breathe. The design also includes an infinity edge that blends into the skin so that there’s no visible line under clothes. The adhesive is medical grade and is made to stay put all day, but the covers also include a non-stick center that makes removal completely pain free. The silicone that the covers are made out of is non-toxic and has been derm-tested for sensitive skin. They brand states that they are reusable for over 15 wears.
Third Love’s Breathable Silicone Solutions Nipple Covers retail for $29, but if you use the subscribe and save feature, the price drops down to $25. The nipple covers are available in two sizes, AA-D and DD+. I appreciate that the sizing goes up to DD+, but it would be nice to have more sizes between AA-D as well. There are three colors: caramel, champagne, and espresso.
Victoria’s Secret – Reusable Nipple Covers
Last but not least, a name we all recognize as one of the giants in the biz: Victoria’s Secret. The cost for a set of nipple covers from VS is generally $19.95, but at time of writing, they are on clearance for $9.99. The nipple covers come in three colors: ganache, marzipan, and praline.
Their nipple covers are nearly invisible under clothing and made out of a self-adhesive silicone; no sticky adhesive with these. They are marketed as reusable, but the website doesn’t actually specify how many uses you can get out of them. Interestingly, even though they are self-adhesive, they are not recommended for sensitive skin.
Probably the biggest drawback is the size. These nipple covers only come in one “universal” size. I know nipples are relatively tiny, but some people want extra coverage just to be safe, in case the nipple covers do start to shift and move around.
Final Thoughts
Especially during the hotter months, nipple covers are a staple for some. Bras can feel too hot and sticky during the summer or even be uncomfortable, or just not work with your outfit. It all comes down to preference. Nipple covers are a great alternative to bras, as they provide coverage without the added material.
Although they’re called ‘nipple covers,’ there are actually also other uses for them. Nipple covers can actually be used for shoe blister guards, anti-chafing, and even for cabinet and drawer bumpers in your home! Keep in mind the adhesive aspect if you have sensitive skin and also keep in mind sizing. Some brands are sized by the actual nipple cover and some are size based off of bra sizes and some brands are just one size. These are all considerations to keep in mind when you’re shopping around. Finally, whatever pair you choose, always remember: power to the nipple.
